What's in Your Water?

On Wednesday the 21st, the boys and I went to Mission Viejo Lake to spend the day with Ryan's sister Kim and niece Lauren and Kim's friends. It is a private lake for residents. I thought it was perfect. The water was warm like bath water, white sand beach, playground behind the beach, bathrooms and plenty of grass to run around on . They also had a concession stand where Brent enjoyed some ice cream. Towards the end of the day it was not so perfect. Brent started to scratch the back of his neck. He was breaking out in hives. Some thought it might be swimmers itch, so I took him to shower before we left. There were welts all over his body. When we got home I gave him some benadryl and lathered him in hydrocortisone cream. The next morning I woke up to find this:

His face all swollen. I Immediately called the doctors and took him that afternoon. The gave him a benadryl shot. The doctor thought he must have been allergic to something in the lake.
Brent at the doctors.
The next several days we pumped his body full of benadryl and rubbed hydrocortisone cream all over it. When the welts went away bruises appeared. Who knows what caused this? Maybe at a later date we will have him tested to see what he is allergic to.

Poor Guy! That would have scared me. Similar thing happend to Lana once. Never figured out what caused her face to swell and to break out in hives all over her body. Hope he feels better soon.
