Las Vegas Trip 2010

June 14th

We took Gavin to the doctors for his eczema on his face before leaving town. Over the weekend it started to drain and bleed. So we did not leave until almost noon. We made it to Vegas in 4 hours. Gavin slept the entire time and Brent slept for about 1 hour. After checking into the Paris Hotel we met my Uncle and Aunt at Clam Jumpers for dinner and then headed to their house to hang out and for Brent to go swimming. Brent kept telling us he wanted to go back to Vegas, meaning that my Uncle doesn't live in Vegas because he doesn't live on the strip.

June 15th

The boys slept in to 9:30am. You got to love the hotel room curtains they do not let any light in. We walked down the strip to the M&M store, where Brent got a new sippy cup and some peanut M&M. He loved picking out his own colors. Then we continued on to the MGM hotel to see the lions. We headed back to meet Ryan for lunch at Wabo Cabo Mexican Restaurant in the Planet Hollywood Hotel. Then we went to the Bellajio to get some watermelon sorbet at Cafe Gelato. Ryan and I first tried this sorbet about 6 years ago. It's still amazing! Ryan went back to his conference and we went to take a nap before going to my Uncle's for dinner and some swimming.

June 16th

The boys slept in until 10am so we didn't leave the hotel room until 11:30am. Then we met Ryan for lunch at JJ's Boulangerie in the Paris Hotel. The sandwiches were out of this world because of the bread. The boys and I walked over to Caesars Palace to see the water fountains inside the Forum Shops. Then we headed back to the Hotel to go swimming with Ryan. We took Gavin swimming for the first time. He like it but the water was a little cool and there was a wind storm. For dinner we met my middle school friend Kristin and her husband Jim at the Cheesecake Factory inside Caesars Palace. They were privileged enough to witness Brent's vomiting act. After dinner we went over to the Bellagio to see the water fountain show choreographed to some music.

The Paris Hotel at night

June 17th

Ryan went to his conference in the morning and then we check out at 11am. We headed for MGM to go to the Coca Cola store when Brent spotted Excalibur Hotel and wanted to go in. We went there next and played in the arcade where Ryan won Brent a new guitar. We ate at their buffet. Can I just say that I don't like buffets but Ryan does. We finally made it to the Coca Cola store where Brent took his picture with the polar bear and where you can try soda from different countries. On our way out of town we stopped by the Silverton Hotel so Brent could see the aquarium and go to the Bass Pro Shop. We thought we were finally on our way home but we had to make several more stops. We stopped at Primm to get Brent a cheeseburger, then in Barstow to get gas and to show Brent the Mc Donalds that I used to stop at as a kid (it used to be a train), then the Ontario Outlets to get Brent a new Mickey because we lost his at the hotel in Vegas. We finally reached home around 9:30pm and the boys didn't go to bed until 11pm. I am done traveling for awhile besides the boys need to get back on a sleep schedule.
