Unbelievable!

All week I have been catching Brent before he poops in his pull up. It is obvious when he is about to go because he stands in front of the window in his room. But yesterday he went in the morning and I told him that I was not going to change it. I forgot that he told me and I went about my morning getting ready. A little while later I locked him in his room because he does not stay in time out and I was frustrated. When I went to go let him out he was putting on a pull up. He decided to change his own pull up and did a great job. He even found a plastic bag to put it in and the wipes he used to wipe himself. Now why isn't he potty trained? It is both of us. I feel like I don't have the time to put him on every 10 minutes while I am attending to Gavin. Also he refuses to go poop on the toilet. Any suggestions?

You have to have some good motivation. Like a specific treat he really loves, to reward him. We used Lego-Star Wars on the computer for Jack, but that came back to bit us in the butt when he became so crazy to unplug from the computer. For Danika it was a set of cheese knives Ralph found at a garage sale. He taked them up on the wall in the bathroom so she could see them and she had to have the whole set so she got in the habit of pooping on the toilet. Also, let me recomend the book, Where's the Poop? It was a hit and we would read it while they pooped or if they wanted to be alone they would look through it. Good Luck!!! Potty training is a lot of work but oh so rewarding:)

Kurtis was the exact same way, we used car magazines. Not the kid ones but actual car magazines that sat on the toliet and it made it so he wanted to sit on the toliet and go poop. We also used the reward thing and put a hot wheel on the back of the toliet so at the end of the week if he went poop and got so many stickers he got the hot wheel. It helped to have it in plain sight! Good luck!!
