Camping 2009

Last Tuesday we left for our 3 day camping trip with the Boyer's and the Grant's. We went to the Channel Islands off the coast of Ventura. Yes, we had to take a hour ferry ride to the island and backpack to our campsite. The first day it rain on us but not until we had our campsite setup. Then it was blue sky's just in time for our hike. The second day there was a wind storm. We went on another hike in the afternoon to Potato Harbor. On top the hills the wind was blowing us over. The gust of winds were about 60 to 70 mph. When we arrived at our campsite our tent (which we were borrowing) was blown over and the Grant's as well but the poles on ours were snapped in half. That night we shacked up with the Grant's and none of us were cold. Also half way through cooking our dinner we ran out of propane. We ate our meat(was cooked), potatoes and carrots raw. I amlost forgot to mention that we forgot the stuff we needed for our lunch that we were responsible for. The third day was a beautiful day. We play in the ocean while waiting for our ferry. I think we are going to stick to car camping and less complicated food. All in all it was a fun and exciting trip.

I am not much of a hiker, or camper for that matter, but it looks like you guys had some fun.
